An Introduction to Tile Adhesives
Tile adhesive is a cement-based powder composed of carefully selected Portland cement, fine sand, and polymer additives. When mixed with water, it forms a paste that significantly enhances strength, flexibility, and ease of application. Depending on the polymer blend, additional properties—such as deformability, extended open time, rapid setting, and self-curing—can also be achieved. Tile adhesives are suitable for installing tiles on a wide range of surfaces, including existing tiles, cement plaster, concrete, screed, plywood, metal, and other substrates. However, different formulations are designed for specific applications to deliver optimal performance across various surfaces and environmental conditions. These adhesives can be used for fixing ceramic and vitrified tiles, natural and engineered stone, and glass mosaic tiles on both interior and exterior walls and floors. Designed for quick mixing and fast curing, tile adhesives offer superior adhesion, preventing tile shri...
